I was introduced to the 30% Club by my daughter Monica who works for Women Ahead, an organisation promoting diversity in the workplace.
The 30% Club has the objective of achieving at least a 30% representation of women on FTSE-100 boards, believing that better gender balance at the top of companies leads to (proven) better results – certainly true in the case of Yes! Concept.
In addition, I had the great pleasure in being a part of Women Aheads’ mentoring programme in 2016 & 2017. I was paired with a mentee to whom I was able to give career and life guidance, via series of one-to-one meetings. In return I received an eye-opening insight into a variety of areas such as the role of social media in business and networking opportunities and how to maximise these.
These experiences provided exciting new challenges, which I was happy to take on. I genuinely feel they have developed me both personally and professionally and I have no hesitation in recommending the work of Women Ahead and the 30% Club and I am happy to talk with you about my experience and how it can work for you, either as an employer or employee.
